PURE STRAIN, ALL MALE O. HORNORUM (WAMI) VARIANT PRODUCING ALL MALE OFF-SPRING

Water: Fresh or Brackish
Normal Water Temp Range: 70º F to 96º F
Maximum Water Temperature: 106º F
Minimum Water Temperature: 60º F
Optimal Breeding Water Temperature: 80º F
Optimal Breeding pH level: 8.0
Feed: For hatchery operations use Purina Aquamax Fingerling 300 per day. Follow the Purina Feed to Weight chart on their website or the Purina Aquamax Fingerling 300 food website on the Internet.

All-male T. Hornorum (Wami Variant) pure strain tilapia fingerlings are the natural result of crossing a pure strain T. Hornorum (Wami Variant) male tilapia with a pure strain O. Mossambicus (Mozambique) female tilapia. The male T. Hornorum (Wami Variant) male carries a ZZ chromosome pair for determining sex and the female O. Mossambicus (Mozambique) female carries an XX pair. When these two spawn, the resulting offspring inherit a Z chromosome and an X chromosome. This ZX pair results in naturally occurring male fingerlings, without the need for any hormone laced food.

These hybrids also inherit the improved body form and rapid growth rate of their father. They can grow to harvest size in less time, and have larger filets, than any other tilapia species.

These hybrids also inherit the improved body form and rapid growth rate of their father.  With proper feeding, water conditions and temperature, they grow to harvest size in less time, and have larger filets, than any other tilapia species.
