I have seen NFT lettuce hydroponic farms stack a staggered arrays of pipes to leverage vertical space within the greenhouse. I think alot of people realize their flat systems aren't using vertical space and begin stacking then :)

I added a bunch of links to the Flink for some vertical designs and products. Check them out.

I was speaking to a science teacher at a local high school last week. He has several setups of hydroponic and aquaponics out side his classroom. He is getting ready to put up some vertical towers using the Disney design. They will be 8" PVC pipes, filled with a fiber media and drilled for plants to be stuck in the sides. He then plans to suspend the pipes directly over his fish tanks to allow direct drainage back into them.

I'm hoping he will join our group, he'd be a great addition.

I'm totally ready to test out some more vertical methods. Most of what I've tried so far has only been small scale and hasn't worked so well so far.

However, Nates towers look like a real winner and I'm eager to try them out.

Nate, where do you suggest looking for good deals on black pipe for support frames?

Last Night I went to a presentation at "Green World Path" by Blue Ridge Valley Farms of North Carolina. They just built two greenhouses with 5000 pots - All organic - no Aquaponics yet. I also saw hundreds of organic Vertigro all organic with worm castiings as the media. www.rabbitsetc.us for a CSA program. Any time I can get information on Vertical organic gardens and farms I go for it.
