I have considered trying prawn in a section of my system. In my research, I have seen 2 types of prawn being used. The first is the tiger prawn that is being shipped in large numbers from Asia (Penaeus monodon) and also  the Macrobrachium rosenbergii). Has anybody tried either or both of these shrimp  so we can have a comparison?

Just joining your small group. I'm currently growing tilapia in an ibc tank with several more on hand to expand, however, I've been considering freshwater shrimp. Because I'm in S.W. Missouri, the only people doing this are in ponds during the summer and not utilizing grow beds, which if I find a bit strange. I noticed James seems to have a  way of utilizing ibc tanks for this.

How is the netting attached to the corners in the image above of the net shelving system?  it looks like the netting is stretched with clips at each corner but I cannot quite make them out.

As I understand it Crayfish are typically very aggressive toward each other the reason for the shelving system used to provide enough space for each individual so that they don't feel threatened by their neighbor.  My questions:

. Which available species grows the biggest?

. Which species is the least aggressive?

. Is the local North Florida Crawdad be a candidate?

There is a guy in Weatherford TX that breeds them.  45 min west of Fort Worth.  He gave me a tour last fall of his place and was very helpful. Aquacultureoftexas is his wed page.
