Did some research and just wanted to share with this group.
I have no experience ordering from these companies, but here are some possible fish sources in Texas:

http://www.danburyfishfarms.com/
http://www.aquacultureoftexas.com/ for freshwater shrimp
Also, looks like only Mozambique tilapia are legal in Texas...

Just an update. I went to Pond King today and picked up about 8 catfish and 6 hybrid Bluegill. They were friendly enough and didn't mind a small order. I was hoping for albino catfish and tilapia but they were out. They had a few dead fish floating in the tanks. They bagged my fish and all were alive when i put them in my tank about an hour later. I have nothing to compare Pond King to, but would give 4 out of 5 stars.
I drove to Overton Fisheries from Waco (about 2 hour drive) and purchased four (4) lbs. of tilapia fingerlings and have had them just over two weeks. They survived the journey back in the oxygenated bag - did just fine in adjusting to tank as well, and they are growing. Overton is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Thanks,
Bill
here is one more I have found but I haven't used.

they have a minimum order of 25 fish.
I found a local source for red composting worms in Richland, Tx. They have a link to a nifty DIY worm bin at the bottom of their page.
I have purchased from these guys in the past. Great to work with and close if you live south of San Antonio.
HERRMANNS FISH FARM

I have also purchased from:
Kenneth Henneke Fish Hatchery

1267 Country Road, Hallettsville, Texas 77964
I have delt with overton and have had excellent experience with them. Any problems with the fish, they always make good. I would highly recommend them. If you are in the Houston area we also sell Mozambique tilapia. (greenlifeaquaponics.com)
Aquaculture of texas also a very good outfit. This guy knows about everything there is to know about freshwater shrimp. I have been working with him on ways to increase density in raft cultures.
I purchased 25 or so blue catfish fingerlings from Danbury and had a good experience. I'll use them again unless I find somewhere closer...
