good local deal on fingerling food!
A year ago I bought a 50# bag of Aquamax 500 fish feed for my bluegills from Western Feed in East Sac. It's worked out great for my adult fish, and the price was right ($1/#, compared to several $/# for mail order of smaller quantities). But I have fingerlings too and have been reluctant to pay through the nose for mail order. Inquired @ Western Feed: they ended up ordering a 50# bag of Aquamax 300 fingerling feed and sold me just a portion of it at $1.23/#. Again, a very good price. So now they have about 40# of this stuff in stock to sell by the pound to anyone who wants some. Thought I'd let you all know about this opportunity.
I appreciate Western Feed being flexible and going ahead and ordering that whole bag even though no one has ever asked for it before and they have no guarantee they'll be able to sell the rest.
They also always keep koi food in stock for sale by the pound, and they carry Rubbermaid stock tanks that I and others use for fish tanks.
