Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Randy Lovell, now Aquaculture Coordinator in Cal. Dept. of Fish and Game, asked me to pass this on, thought we might be interested in it.  Looks like a good educational opportunity, and looks free too.  Sponsored by the North Central Regional Aquaculture Center (NCRAC), one of the five Regional Aquaculture Centers established by Congress that are administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service.  Although NCRAC is Midwest-focused, I think the info  could be useful to us out here too.  Note that times listed are Central; subtract 2 hours to get Pacific times.  For details of each day's offerings, see NCRAC web site.

Don't know a better spot on this forum to post this; let me know if you have a suggestion...

Tim

Thanks AGAIN!  for the intell.... :>

Cool, thanks Paul.

Not technically related, but what is your opinion of the feasibility of a town hall-esque meeting with Randy to discuss aquaponics and what F&G is or is not working on in relation to our mushrooming hobby. Or has this already happened and I’ve totally missed the boat.

First couple of days of the

eXtension Virtual Aquaculture Workshop 2012

has been pretty interesting.  Last session tomorrow (Thursday) will be devoted to aquaponics, presented by Patricia Duncan, Fort Valley State University.  12:30 - 1:30 pm, Pacific time.

WaaaaaH! I missed today that bites!

You're in luck, Rochelle, sessions are being recorded and should be available online in coming weeks.

Yeah I know , but I want to kick myself.

Note to self: check out; http://www.fishnetaquaponics.com/fish

Anyone been to this place for education, fish, or otherwise?

If you missed the 2012 eXtension Virtual Aquaculture Workshop last week, or if you participated and wanted to review:  recordings of the whole thing are now available. You can access the recordings through eXtension's learn website, or all of the recordings are available at http://www.extension.org/pages/66298/proceedings-of-the-2012-extens...

And special bonius:  the sound quality on the recorded version seems to be better than it was live...

Apparently this is an annual production, so stay tuned for next year's version.  Content varies year to year.
