http://aquaponicsinwashington.wordpress.com/   Hmm... I just clicked on it and it popped up.  Is it something that might be prohibited on your end, Carey?

Hi everyone,

Would you mind looking at a blog I have started and give me your opinion?  I need people that do not know me well to read it and tell me what they think. I would appreciate it greatly.  http://aquaponicsinwashington.wordpress.com/  This is the address.

Thanks again,

Rick

A friend of mine showed me a great site to research and learn about different fish species: fishbase.org  It gives you a great deal of empirical research data on different species. Diet, environmental requirements, habits, size, native range, etc.

Hello all,

We had a great visit with Carey Ma today.  I really want to thank Carey for taking the time to come and visit us.  He shared some valuable thoughts and ideas that we will cetainly take advantage of.  It was also very interesting to learn about the differences of living somewhere outside of the US.  For all our difficulties I am still thankful to be right where I am.  Take advantage of what Carey has to share you guys, he is a very intelligent man and has a lot to offer.

Greetings everyone,

I have been running a duckweed experiment here the last couple of months.  I have had it growing in a tank outside, a large mud pond, and a fish tank indoors.  The fish certainly love it. They eat it ALMOST as fast as it grows. I keep a section the fish cant get to in the outdoor tank so they cant devastate it all, and throw a portion of it to them when it completely covers that surface. The indoor tank, has only two fish and several yabbie crayfish. As long as they (the fish) get fed regularly, they leave enough of the duckweed to reproduce.  The mud pond is full of aquatic vegetation so they dont seem as interested in it out there.  I am going to maintain the propagation indoors, possibly moving a portion of it out of the fish's reach so they dont totally eradicate it.

I found a company that makes heating coils that can be retrofit into wood or pellet fired stoves. They are stainless steel and already fiitted for plumbing. Their kit even comes with a metal cutting holesaw and pressure relief valve to set it up safely.
