Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

The February Meeting is scheduled for Don Stark's House. His address is 326 Independence Rd SW,  Rochester, WA 98579. His phone is (360) 273 - 8619.

As some of you may know, Rick Stillwagon is heading for Oregon this Spring. The January meeting was mostly about logistics and locations. Who would host February? Don. And who March? Evergreen College, in Olympia.

We are still the same group and we are still focused on getting good nutritious food for ourselves and our families, we just need to define locations for the monthly meetings. Aquaponics is still our excitement.

Our group is very diverse with homes as far North as Snohomish, and as far South as Portland, and West into the Peninsula. There is no convenient free meeting place that would be central to all of us, so we will be moving around somewhat as we work to find a common place for repeat meetings.

I truly hope this group continues to grow and expand. This is a fledgling movement with ancient roots.  Growing food to feed oneself is a basic skill that needs to be recaptured and passed on.  We are in danger of losing such a simple skill. Many of the things I have learned while exploring aquaponics will be passed along, added to, improved, and adopted as a part of a basic human function; agriculture, animal husbandry, and all the skills surrounding the production of wholesome nutritious food.  I appreciate everyones efforts and contributions.  I look forward to learning about the future innovations and rediscoveries of ancient technologies.

I will offer my house for a meeting in April, May or June if you Washatonian's are willing to travel to Portland.  I'm off to California to study for 4 days at Fishnet Aquaponics.  I will have lots to share upon my return.

>> Thanks, Linda! I'm willing to drive to Portland, and can carry up to 3 adults there and back again.

>> Come to either the February Meeting or the March one and we'll get the details out to everyone.
