Simply put, my bell syphon keeps sucking in my medium despite the shroud cover around it meant to keep the medium out: My table has an indented grid pattern bottom that allows the hydroton to slip under it. This is MOST FRUSTRATING because the hydroton floats up and clogs my overflow tubing. ANY SUGGESTIONS WILL BE EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!!!

I had the same problem. I solved it by putting course gravel at the bottom of the screen to keep the hydrogen out.

I'll pick up some larger lava rock this weekend and give everyone an update. Thanks :-)

Travis,

Thank you for your feedback!!! It worked out great and my tables are up and running... I have the ph balance just right and I've added some fish to the pond. I'm officially up and running!!! Plants get transplanted this weekend!

Travis, I would like to thank you sincerely! Your suggestion worked like a charm. The larger lava rock is surrounding my bell syphon and no media is getting sucked down into the pond!!!
