I erroneously put this discussion on Page 2. Not really sure anyone will find page 2. For now I'll leave it there but wanted you all to know it existed.

You should plan on drawing off the bottom and off the top for a skimmer effect. I think you are asking for trouble inverting the ibcs, Click on my avatar and ck out my pics. I am pretty sure I have some of my FT exit system where I use an air stone on top of the PU tube to draw the waste toward the tube. I will try and help you more after work today. Got to run.

OK I looked at your picks. I'm thinking I may put them on the north wall in a line with bio and sump in the nw corner to be able to work on the tanks easier. or put the tanks outside with the bio-filter and sump inside.

Great pics Jim. I've had my IBC going for about 6 months as well but only have the pump on the bottom and no other plumbing. I couldn't ask for a cleaner tank so I'm wondering if I'm missing a future problem that might occur. The only other thing that might attribute to the clean tank is my algae eater that keeps the the algae under control.

Probably is the algae eater but algae coated tanks are actually good if under control as the algae add oxygen if they remain just on the sides. They only pose a problem if they are heavy and suffer a die off. Then they consume oxygen. Mine are pretty well coated and I feel that is a good thing and sort of isolates the system from the plastics.
