Well I finished building my greenhouse and my chift pist system. I will post a picture or two tonight. I bought a fancy schmancy TDS meter and temp/ph meter as well. What kind of numbers should I be looking for on those meters during the cycling stage? Also, what do all of you use to increase PH? Thanks.

Thanks for your support Theresa...I'm sure I'll see all of you on the organizing committee for the 2012 conference, assuming we pull this year off, and I hope to see many of you in Orlando in September so we can talk up Colorado as the next site!

Thanks!

Colorado would be my choice as well. Pensacola would be a more central location (for driving) than Orlando, which adds a couple more days of travel. My retirement dream was to winter in Pensacola and Summer in the Rockies.  Hurricans Ivan, Dennis and Katrina made us stick to Colorado year round. o:(

Hi all, I think it is absolutely wonderful that you are creating an aquaponics conference, Sylvia.  YEAH!  Although when I heard it was in FL I was disappointed because I will be unable to attend.  We just got back from FL after spending a month there.  Sept in central FL is too hot for me (so was April :))  maybe the coast where you have the sea breezes might be better.  It is beautiful there, but I agree AL I love Colorado and it has so much to offer!  Funny this coming from someone who lived in FL for 36 years :)  Anyway, I look forward to 2012!   I did think even though it is just a conference, there are not many states where aquaponics can be outside year round like FL or HI when you combine the rest of us Aquapons from around the country we may be more compatible in how we have to run our systems due to our climate changes, so picking an area where more of us could attend or more centrally located might be more appealing.  Of course I know many northerners want to go to FL :)....IMHO Sept is not the nicest time to be there but you can probably get some pretty good rates on flights and accomadations (Jan/Feb or March would be ideal but much more expensive and harder to book)  Congrats to starting all this!  I look forward to hearing more about it and hope you get an amazing turnout.

Hi Alfred, just to clear up a misconception - nothing has been booked!  This is the direction we are heading and wanted to see what the interest would be based on that direction.  As far as the selection of Florida goes, the reality is that there is much more aquaponics going on there than in Colorado...but we are working on changing that!!  And the 2012 conference should DEFINITELY be in Colorado

Al,  If you want the conference in your backyard why don't you just say so! You can fly down there with me and we'll have a blast.
