We are having a very big push to expanding our system and breeding tanks this week here in the DR. I will post new photos soon and would like to hear from others on what is happening in our beautiful part of the world.

Hello Marco, Keep me posted about your project in Bahamas as well as I am probably moving down there next year.

I have heard that labor cost are very high in the Bahamas and it makes it hard to start agro projects there but do understand the want and need to reduce imports..

I would be willing to help in any way with any projects in my area, keep in contact and let us know any developments..

Hi Marco, I'm a US citizen but also interested in setting up an aquaponics export operation in the Bahamas one day. What island do you have in mind?

Hi Every one , my name is Marco. I am new to the Aquaponics field, so new that I have only done studies but no formal training as yet. I live in the United States, but I am from the Bahamas where I am hoping to start clearing the land to start a Commercial system by September of this year. I will need all the assistance I can get. I am looking forward to communicating and learning from each of you . and hopefully one day we can become international exporters, cut down  the importing of foods that have to be frozen and travel thousands of unknown miles to our table and keep the money in the Caribbean.

I live in the Turks and Caicos and have been doing Aquaponics for about a year now. I have a large barel ponic system at hopme and have just built a few small systems for hotels. I am hoping to have a small commercial system up and running by this winter. Are biggest struggle is summer temps. and fungal problems. It would be very interesting to hear how other people are doing it around the caribbean.

Hi guys, I know I have been amiss in not helping moving this group forward to become a group of good tips and help for all of us in the tropics of the Caribbean.

An up date of what I'm up to.

Currently I have 2 IBC systems and 1 250gal water tank system.

We just built a 900gal cement block tank and new 17 x 22m greenhouse.

I will post photos for you all and start a list of plants working well for me.

Welcome Henny, glade to find others in the area.

Yes lets keep an open and constructive conversation, with helpful tips and ways to get the best out of our fine climate.

I'm installing what I'm calling "Project mother in-law" today.  It is a small system using her fish tank and window box, I'll post photos tonight if I have time.

I'm from curacao. Just started with aquaponics. Lets get this group going. We need to develop aquaponics in our climate.
