All the best
And here's a manufacturer of DOW blue boards in Hyderabad :
http://www.jjgroup.co.in/styroform.html
Can I ask what do you need it for ? Is it for aquaponics ?
Sahib, here's some leads for chelated iron in most major cities :

Prices are not indicated, so you might have to choose your city and make a few phone calls. Hope that helps.
Hello Bharatponics members know of availability of styrofoam (DOW Blue Board), or similar material. The attached link shows that DOW does manufacturing such in India. Just wondering if anyone has any information. I believe that in India the term is similar to 'Thermocole". Need to get food grade sheets that are at least 2lbs heavy (no fire retardant added).
Here is what I have found but do not know of availability or prices. Anyone have any idea?
I am also interested in "Hydroponic"supplies & natural nutrients availability as well as items such as Iron chelate and related items.
God bless
Hello Roxy,
Pea gravel will work initially but may be prone to clogging after some time. It may also become rater heavy (if using 12 inch depth in beds), as is the case with glass beads. Lava stone should work provided it is "clean" and at least 3/4 inch big. It can be a bit rough on the bare fingers. I usually mix the Hydroton adding a couple of inches on top.
Are there any sources of expanded shale that anyone is aware of?
Hydroton is available in India but is expensive. The alternative I can think of could be Pea gravel or lava stone. Another option could be glass beads (I am not sure the if it will work) which are colored. Also need to consider is the use of latrite (which is available everywhere)
Well I did a search in the member listing and saw that there were quite a few members from India. Some aspects of aquaponics are particularly challenging here so I thought we might as well bundle up and be stronger :)
Thanks to you Sylvia for bringing all of us together ...
This is a terrific idea for a group, Alexandre! Thanks for starting this.
