Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

I know it's last minute notice but there is a tour tonight at Rhiba Farms from 6:30pm to 9pm.   Tonight's tour was arranged through the Valley Permaculture Alliance.  There will also be a tour on the last Sunday of this month (the 29th), I'm not sure of the times, you have to call and put your name on the list to attend (480-632-0272).

Here is the write up for tonight's tour:

A permaculture practice that is becoming popular here in the valley is Aquaponics: A combination of aquaculture (fish farming) and hydroponics creating a system with outputs connected to inputs.

Join us January 18th at 6:30 PM, for a tour of local commercial aquaponic farm Rhiba Farms. You may already be familiar with Rhiba farms from Farmer's Markets in the Valley, and this is an opportunity to see how those tasty sprouts and veggies are grown right here in Chandler!

Mark Rhine will take us on a tour and explain how, why, and what of growing food using fish! Mark's farm is an incredible display of an evolving system that has tremendous success. Using no herbicides, fertilizers, or toxic insecticides, Rhiba works to control pests and enrich their healthy produce through science, innovation, and dedication to sustainable solutions.

Come be amazed, inspired, and enlightened!

For those who cannot make this date/time, they offer tours on Sunday, January 29th!
