I am brand new and just starting to build a system. I live in southwest Floridand don't know if I can use the gravel I have already. What I have is a white gravel and some looks as though it may have been mixed with coral or something else. Can anyone help figure out what I have?

get a glass of vinegar and drop a hand full of your gravel into it.  If it fizzes and bubbles, you probably want to avoid using it in AP as limestone, coral, marble and the like will keep your pH too high.

You probably want to see if you can get some river rock (quartz type) or lava rock.

:-)
