Anyone using a fish sweater?  I'm looking into this and if I do it I will run it with a small barbeque size propane tank.  I have a few questions if you have one:

I only plan to heat the water in my 280 gallon tank.  I'd like to heat to 75 degrees.  I'm in a glass green house in Portland OR.  I've gone down to 38 degrees inside.  The fish tank has a lid that covers 2/3 of the top surface so it isn't completely exposed.  I would really like to get a sense of my potential gas usage.  The company can't provide any guidelines.

From experience can someone offer an idea?

Any help would be great

To be able to figure out the gas usage you would really need to know the heat loss your system is likely to experience.  (Without knowing more about your system and how it will loose heat it is unlikely that any company could give you an accurate estimation of gas use needed to keep a tank at 75 degrees.)

The fish sweaters are an efficient way to heat a fish tank.  However without knowing the insulation of the fish tank AND system and what type of system (what it's likely heat loss will be) any estimation of gas use will be a total wild guess.
