Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

Hi all.  I just saw this in the Ning Creators forum and thought it might spark an interesting initiative in this group.  Maybe a way to gather material for AP curricula?

This is still an idea in it's earliest stages and it will only apply to certain types of network but I've been looking for a way to let members contribute wiki-style to my pages for a while now and think I've found a solution.

My network http://omniprof.ning.com is a network for English teachers around the world and part of that is providing content to use in classes. What I've started to set up is a forum category where the orignal post is a text or idea taken from the web, or created by the user, but the replies are all derivatives of that original text.

So, for example, you have the original post as a news article. Members then copy that news article, alter it to suit their own students' needs (for example, focusing on specific new language) and repost it as a reply.

This is great because, unlike wikipedia, the original text remains the same and continues to act as a template. Members can then search for a theme (Easter, for example) and they get a chain of different class ideas to use, depending on their requirements.

This will become even more effective once Ning introduces a Like feature for forum posts. If each reply was taggable as well the potential would be incredible.
