There are a few ways to add calcium but they usually effect PH so you want to be careful. There are lots of good posts on that if you search the forums. A better option (depending on what your PH level is) is to use a Calcium Foliar Spray.

the plant is thriving and taking over my ibc bed ,,, its the zucchini that is dying. i have grown a very large zucchini already the size of your forearm then the new growth has been unsuccessful. i have also pollinated the female flowers with the males.. so i am unsure of the issue other than the heat in my green house in San Antonio TX.

And are you saying the zucchini themselves are dying at 3inches long, or the whole plants are dying at 3 inches?

If the former, you might have my problem: http://www.whatisaquaponics.co/cucumbers-love-nutrients/

Lol, I recommend eating them before they get larger than 3 inches :D Pickles!

Yeah, it could just be a lack of nutrients. I don't know how old your system is, but aquaponic setups take a while to mature and build up enough nutrition to support fruiting plants. Funny though, if I recall correctly, I got cucumbers from a midget variety of cucumber plant that was living solely off of maxicrop. In my experience, cucumbers seem to be the easiest so far among fruiting plants.…
