This is my first post and I am a total newbie :) . I recently took Tawnya Sawyer's class at Colorado Aquaponics and have just setup my first aquaponics system. It is an IBC tote design in a basement. I have it all built with water flowing, but not cycled and no fish / plants. So, I am starting fishless cycling today with ammonia, but wanted to find a good local source for Tilapia and Pellet food here in Denver. I like to buy local if possible even if it is a little drive. So, my questions are...
1. Where can I find fish in Denver (Northwest side, Highlands)? Should they be able to reproduce?
2. What breed would you recommend for a real amateur? I just want hardy, tasty fish.
3. Where can you get good cleap pellet food in Denver? Doesn't need to be organic.
Oh, and I attached a picture of the setup. Thanks in advance!!!

I'd imagine you could eventually pick up fingerlings from Colorado Aquaponics; are they selling fingerlings yet?
Thanks for the reply. I will email them and see but their website shopping cart doesn't seem to include fish...everything but fish really. I'll email Tawnya and see.

I talked to Colorado Aquaponics and they have everything I need. They sell fish even though they are not on the website...blue nile, rocky mountain white and mozanbique tilapia.
