Broccoli has come and gone here. We've been cropping Kale all fall and winter - collards too. Strawberries are producing. Cabbage are heading up. It's time to pull beets and turnips. Carrots are looking good but still small. Sugar Snaps are still producing but not as much as before.

Spring vegetables, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant are in containers under plastic - planted 3 weeks ago or so.

Today i planted kale, broccoli, sweet peas and strawberris. I also have some lettuce, tomato and a watermelon vine growing in my growbed. I have spaced it out pretty good and the strawberries are pretty isolated but do you guys think ill have any problems with these plants in a single growbed?

Good timing TCLynx! Today I planted a few seeds of each Spicy Globe Basil and Fernleaf Dill to add to my raft system as I harvest my first heads of Buttercrunch Lettuce in a short while. I sowed the seeds in perlite moistened with water from my system. I have them in a pot with holes in the bottom, so I can 'dunk' the pot most of the way into a bucket of water every few days to keep the medium moist.

TCLynx said:

Today Nov 11 is supposed to be good for planting above ground crop where the climate is suitable (or in a greenhouse.)
So today I planted peas again (I had really dismal germination the first time) Most of them in the dirt but I did plant a line of them in one grow bed. Just another attempt at my cool weather edible privacy fence. Hopefully more of them come up this time!!!

As I was getting the grow bed ready for the peas, I cleaned out the old okra and pushed back the vines and cleaned up a bunch of plant debris from the surface of the bed opening it up to also plant,
Cabbage, Collards, Broccoli, Dill, Cilantro, Fennel, Swiss chard and probably a few other things I'm forgetting. I might need to trim back the Orchid Tree to get enough sun to that bed for it to be much good.

Then over at the raft bed. I have some seed trays on some capillary matting so I planted lettuce, mustard and turnip greens. I figure most of the mustard and turnip greens will become chicken and duck feed but if I can work out a rotation of seed trays growing fodder like this might be a real winner at reducing my feed bill for the birds as well as making them healthier and the eggs healthier to eat.

So now I'll probably go sprinkle seeds in a bunch of my other grow beds with a focus on collards, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, chard, and maybe spinach.

So who else is planting today?
