Cartridge 2 Saturated in 7 days at which time I rinsed it with a hose jet and soaked it in an approved cartridge cleaner.

Cartridge 1 reused It appears to be saturated after less than one day. I will report when I figure it out. I suspect the chemicals didn't remove the film from the cartridge.

2014-01-23

The Saga continues: It looks like another idea gone south. Nothing I have tried has removed the thin film from the cartridge filtering surface. I am going to try some more but My conclusion looks to be steer clear of this bad idea.

I have been running the "Polishing" filter, and my water is clear enough now to see the disk clearly to the bottom of the FT. At this level the Tilapia are invisible, do to the coating on the walls and bottom of the FT.

One of the reasons I constructed the disk was so people may compare results without the expensive equipment.

When the polishing filter gets saturated I will let the turbidity build up so I have a calibration of sorts.

I have extended to pole to allow up to 55 inches and by holding the pole at an angle I can still read the disk at 55 inches. So I would have a (practical)measurement of clarity of 55 or turbidity of 1/55 or 0.018
