My grow bed leaves about an inch of water at the bottom after it drains because the teeth on my bell pipe are cut at that length.
Is it okay to have that much water in the bottom or should I cut another bell pipe with shorter teeth so I drain almost all the water?
My grow bed is really shallow at about 6 inches. I was hoping to find a storage container about 12 inches deep at the length I was unsuccessful.

an inch of water in the bottom is pretty normal when a siphon stops draining (there is no way to drain it completely dry with a siphon.)

I got a 12 inch deep food bin from Tractor Supply co, you might check at a farming store to see if you can find something you like. Also you can ask to search their catalog, they may be able to order something that they don't have in stock.
