Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

I was hoping someone else has run into this and can give me some inside on cause and cure. I have some rather large tilapia, 7-8 inches. I recently moved them outside to their new, larger growout tank for the summer.  While I was doing this I found three fish with something wrong with them. The have very round bodies, smaller than normal fins and they swim with their heads down. I have taken them out of the tank and euthenized them because I assumed this was some kind of genetic defect or illness and I didn't want it to spread. Anyone have any idea what this is? The rest of the fish in the tank look fine.

Did you get any pictures to show?

I'm sorry I have no experience with whatever that is.

No. But if it happens again, I will get one.

Sounds may have something to do with the swim bladder.
