Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

I've been brainstorming today to decide on how to build a system for my basement. While "Googling" I ran across an interesting website about some guys from Kansas City that seem to be walking the walk instead of just talking about it. They moved their families to a blighted neighborhod and are contributing to rebuilding the community. Aquaponics is playing a big part in their efforts.

Here's a page that has several aquaponics videos they've made. Check on the one where they talk about 6 IBCs linked together with 1,000 tilapia. I also found their vortex filter and using fish waste to create methane equally interesting.

Some of you may have seen these videos before on You Tube, but for those that haven't I hope you enjoy them as much as I did earlier today.

Hi,

I love their vision, and action that they have taken.    You sould also visit their Facebook page and their forum if you like what you have seen.    I marvel at how creative they are and are willing to link with others ideas to try something new.

I am not sure of their result of their systems of how viable they are, but they sure look interesting.

Yeah they're pretty much awesome in any sense. They, also, are willing to share their designs with the public which is amazing.

Yes. That is certainly becoming more and more rare these days.  There are some people I know who used to be willing to share too, but they've tightened up on that recently. It's admirable that some people share freely and willingly and trust that people will support them.

Yeah, people were stealing designs and photo's. A large amount of stories can be seen here: http://aquaponicscommunity.com/forum/topics/credit-to-other-aquapon... .
