Talapia and Goldfish

Hi all,

My new system is cycling and we are now ready to add the Talapia.

I have about 10 6cm goldfish in the tank.

I am adding 50 8cm Talapia.

do I need to remove the goldfish or can they live together with the Talapia?

How big is your tank?  Do you have enough grow bed to support 60 fish?

I know of people who have kept goldfish and tilapia together fine.  However, suddenly adding 50 fish to a new system, you may need to restrict feeding while the bio-filter catches up to the new load and small tilapia can be pretty aggressive about eating just about anything they can get into their mouths.
