Strange fish problem
Aloha,
Yesterday I visited a tilapia farm on the Big Island. They were harvesting fish for several orders that day. They drained one particular tank and found several fish with holes or ulcers in the head. Some fish had become very deformed at the top of the head only. Most fish were just fine and showed no signs of problems. The ones that had the head problems looked and acted completely normal and healthy. Has anybody seen this kind of problem???!

Yup! Hole in the Head is a common bacterial infection for freshwater aquarium fish.

There seems to be a disease aptly nicknamed "Hole in the Head" disease to which cichlids are particularly susceptible.
