Usually I hunt them with a light at night and cut their heads off with scissors - look for cut worms too.

You can also flood the grow bed over the top of media to drive them to the surface, day or night - good for cut worms too.

Sluggo works for slugs and snails.

Thank you for the reply.  Yeah, I have been "hunting" the slugs.  I have never had this happen in the 3 years I have had the system running.  Right now I also have aphids, but I just released a bunch of lady bugs, so the aphids will be taken care of shortly-but slugs-yuk.  Ok, I will keep hunting and I may try flooding the beds.

Aphids can be washed off with a forceful spray of water.  Repeat daily until solved.  I wouldn't try this indoors.  Great for spidermites too.

The challenge with nocturnal bug hunting is timing - being there at the same time the pest is.  It is very effective if you are persistent.  Certain conditions really bring out the slugs, such as dew or the right level of humidity and temperature.  Be sure you have a good light.  Your eye becomes trained with practice.  Take your time.

In general, I prefer not to buy products that I can do without.

You can order Sluggo at Amazon, if necessary.  It doesn't take much of it.
