You can pick up a water test kit at Lowes that tests for lead if you suspect there is still lead in the pipes but I have a feeling that they would have changed that by the 1970's

True, however, the water utility only needs to test the water at their end not in our building. I'm thinking the aging pipes and such ( the school is 40 years old) may add to the water chemistry.

<p>Contact your water utility and ask for the analysis. I believe they have to do it at least yearly and probably more and they are required to provide the information to the consumers using the utility.</p>
