Prop 37 is more than a California Proposition!
We have a right to know. California's vote can change the way our nation label food.

Monsanto has spent millions to confuse people. I recently got something in the mail from some church organization that said vote no because the bill was not good enough. Not good enough? This could be the crack in Monsanto's armor that will finally give us a chance all though still small to begin a movement. Even if this bill passes it seems doubtful that people will reject GMO food, but with proper news coverage it might. At the very least it will give us a choice, but when you see how many prepared foods contain GMO I think you will be surprised at how few choices are left.
the unfortunate thing about monsanto and the other companys like them is that have enough money to buy their way into or out of any thing to suit their needs! immagin a 2 car accident monsanto in one car and you in the other, they are the type to just throw $1,000 at you to not go to the innsurance company even when they know that they caused more like $10,000 damage or completely totaled your car and just drive away!
in other words they have all levels of government officals and some farmers in their back pockets and they pull them out when it suits their needs like during this election rounds!

I see you have a definite interest in this "must be passed" bill. I have been following monsanto for years now. It all started when I saw a video in netflix about the fight against Schmeiser vs. monsanto. Come to find out that Percy Schmeiser is from Bruno, Saskatuwan Canada where my grandparents are from. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Schmeiser this last August. Anyway Im sure you know that monsanto is the anti christ and must be stopped! I dont see how this bill wont be passed, do you?
@loki - That's exactly right. They had already bought both republican and democrats so the issue of GMO was never made public. That's why California must pass 37. It will allow the issue to become public.
But like I said I have little faith in the American public. I believe they will follow the path of least resistance. If faced with buying GMO tortillas or making them from scratch with non-GMO corn what will we do? Even I would be hard pressed to make everything from condiments to breakfast cereal from scratch.
But maybe I'm wrong an a non-GMO industry will open up. That's what I hope for.
100% with you!

monsanto has been buying people from the beginning, they were able to get a judge in office so they could patent seed then get politicians to believe in their cause. They have the FDA on their side too, why, because they have lots of money, pure evil!! Its crazy to think that a company could get away with something so wrong and sleep at night. I also recently read that their employees dont eat gmo food in their cafeteria's, they say they have a choice so why dont we? Thats why I truely believe monsanto is the anti Christ and must be stopped! It also is strange to me that my mother doesnt know what a GMO is?
Prop 37 lost 46% to 53%.
How did it lose???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Kind of a bad bill the way it was written, I hope it gets rewritten and tried again.
Depressing we can spend 53 million dollars for and against the genetically modified food bill, but we have so many people in America hungry and without jobs. New law - Every dollar people spend on political contributions you have to match and give to charities. Crazy food companies would spend $45,600,000 to defeat this. Whats really going on....

Thanks Craig for the answer, damn this makes me so angry! Now I have to create a non gmo recipe book for my family. Do you know of any grocers that try to stay away from gmo foods?
Anything certified organic will not be a GMO food.
