patience

the nitrification process will bring the ph down in time.. i've seen lots of people "chasing" their ph, which can be very frustrating..

higher ph is good for starting cycling, and having buffers in your growbeds ahead of time will help you avoide the ph crash that usually happens.. buffers like shellgrit won't do anything until the ph is below 7.2 or so.. thats when they slowly start dissolving, keeping the ph around 7.2-7.4

i keep my sytem at about 7.2, with lots of shellgrit/eggshells in the growbeds.. everybody is happy
