<p>I have used similar things and they seemed to be fine. I did notice once though with small sponges I had used for a pond bio-filter was that there was a soap added to the sponge. No harm to the pond or fish but a potential hazard. Another area you could find a similar pads is floor buffing pads. When I worked in tool rental we sold three different grades.</p>
