Hello, I'm Kyle i live in Taiwan. We are currently buying land for our new project which includes polyculture with aquaculture.
We will be running maybe 6 ponds in the 70 square meter range. doing freshwater prawns and tilapia.
The bulk of the farm will be vegetables, grains and tropical fruit trees (lychee, mango, sugar apple, durian) for market (hopefully) and random other species for personal consumption. We will also be raising and creating out own feed for the fish and prawns, and cycling them into the farm to use to help run the land. A mushroom house will be added soon after the ponds are dug as well, to compost agriculture waste, give us mushrooms, and provide food for feeder animals to be used for fish feed.
One thing i am particularly interested in learning about is making feed for tilapia and prawns. Everything should be made on site with the only nutrients leaving the farm is in the form of sold market produce, everything else gets cycled back into the system, so actual new inputs theoretically become very low.
Looking forward to new ideas here :)
