I am a aquaponic beginner here, this morning I did a water test using API 5 in 1 test strips and the result as follow:

PH = 6

KH=40

GH=180

I water some yourtube video suggest use egg shell to move PH value up but Calcium seem also affect GH value more

Please advise

That PH test only displays down to 6, I think, which means your PH may be lower than 6.  You could quickly raise a bit by drying egg shells and finely pulverizing or grinding them.  You can use a coffee grinder.  Add small amounts until you determine how much is needed.  Low PH, if too low, can kill your bacteria.

I suggest that you use whatever you have on hand to raise it at least above 6.  Egg shells can work quickly if ground finely. Calcium Hydroxide from a garden store will work.  If you have baking soda on hand, that's an option.

What I generally use to raise PH is Potassium bicarbonate.

I used egg shell for adjust ph since yesterday  now to ph to between 6 and 6.5

Thanks for advising
