Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

I built this aquaponics system specifically to be indoors. Because of that I wanted it to look good. I have a few design changes for my next indoor system but I believe this one is going to work fine and look much better than the IBC system we also run.

I plan to add herbs and I'm going to give radishes and carrots a try in this one. The container for the grow bed will get cut down to the height of the wood frame and the upper part will get some plywood panels for aesthetics.

Just put water in about an hour ago and my wife has already begun to add some decorations to the aquarium, (completely different from the IBC unit also).

Thought I'd add a pic here. I'll add more when it is complete.

Looks good, David! What size tank is that?

Thanks Cory! It's a 39 gallon tank.

Cool, I had a 29g set up like that last summer and was able to grow a couple pretty big tomato plants in it. I actually propped open one of the windows in my sunroom about an inch and trained them to grow up a pair of wires, worked pretty good.

David,

Looks good, can't wait to see it up and running.

Thank you, I can't wait to see it up and running either. Should get the grow bed ready tomorrow and at least start the water cycling.
Cool thanks.
