municipal water filter?

I am entertaining thoughts on building a more commercial setup in our city limits and I would have to use municipal water. My question is What kind of filter do I need to make it safe? I know the village uses chlorine gas and does not add flouride. I would like to capture rainwater for the primary water top off to the tanks but will need to supplement with municipal water.

Any ideas?

You can remove the chlorine in a tank with a bubbler; it takes about a day for all the chlorine to escape.

Yes, this is what I am doing now with 55 gallon barrels but it needs extra space and extra tanks and especially the right timing to have water available when needed. I was wondering if there was something that was more immediate.

You need a "garden hose water filter" which you can find on amazon. Cheap ones cost around $20 and last 2000 gallons while the $60-90 will last 25000-40000 gallons

People do top ups of around 5% with chlorinated water for their mature systems.  The important details are small amounts of water and a mature system.

If you need to fill a big system with chlorinated water and you need to neutralize the chlorine immediately then the carbon filter is one choice but there are also chlorine neutralization chemicals that can be used but you have to find the food safe ones.
