Minimum Flow of Water to Sustain an AP System?

I've been reading the pumpless aquaponics system thread and was wondering what you guys thought the minimum amount of water flow should be to keep a system going?  

I assume the best thing for a system is to have a constant flow of water 24 hours a day...

But what do you think the minimum would be to sustain an AP System?
