Methylene Blue

Hi, I just lost my first batch/attempt of tilapia eggs in a tumbler to fungus. I was moving tilapia and a female spit out a ton of eggs. I decided to collect them and make a tumbler last minute. Long story short I lost the eggs to fungus. So, I have now made a proper tumbler and have a proper tank set up for them and I ordered some methylene blue to treat the eggs because that seemed like the best/most common route. Now that it is here it says on the bottle not to use it on fish to be consumed... however this paper seems to suggest it is fine http://ag.arizona.edu/azaqua/ista/ista6 ... df/188.pdf

I lost a whole clutch of eggs two weeks and I used methylene blue when I first stripped the female on day 4 all the eggs like disintegrated, They turned into the clear shells and I witnessed the male and female spawning so I know they were fertilized.... Never again will I use it. I am an actual breeder so I know what Im doing I heard of this and tried it and was a total failure for me... I have over time found that a Plastic bottom or glass bottom tumbler is best instead using like panty hose or any kind of a mesh with good water flow of course hope this helps....
