Aquaponic Gardening

Here is a link to a greenhouse design that I found and used to build my greenhouse. Mine is 22'x32' out of construction cleanup recycled lumber.

Thank you Chris for such a detailed design. Now to find somewhere to build it and someone to help me :-)
It really was not too difficult to do by myself. I'll be the first to admit that I am not a carpenter, I did have a contractor friend help me erect it once I had the trusses assembled.

How is the greenhouse holding out .. just starting to build the trusses myself...
I am wodering with this kind of design could you make a cutter connect type greenhouse?  You would want posts but you could just make an upper section maybe the 2 sections you have or change the angles and make it a little wider. Then build a gutter on top of the posts so you could walk it and put up the plastic. If it could be made strong enough you could make a very wide greenhouse.  Any thoughts?
Not sure .. but this link is to a pdf file for a green house i am considering for the next one assuming the current prototype works ,,

In your city, township or district does it require a permit to put such a green house?

Yeah .... unfortunately ... if the value of materials is under 5k it cost about $50.....

not that sometimes we just go ahead and ignore them  :)

Here is another nice little greenhouse from harborfreight.com.

I am really thinking about getting this one. I am just starting with aquaponics and I just bought 3 IBC Totes. I am cutting 2 of them in half to use as grow beds. I think they will all fit in this 10x12 greenhouse.

Not a bad price ... since you live in sunny california you should be fine ... should be able to get away with a couple of rows of 3'x8' ...about 48 square feet of grow space .... looks like you could even go a higher row of nft tubes later down the road ...  add another 90 feet of grow space or hanging towers ... depends on what you want to do...

thanks for sharing this

Mother Earth News just published plans for a low cost High Tunnel. This seems to be on the upper end of the strength scale for a PVC ribbed High Tunnel and it costs under $1000.

Our 14x90 foot High Tunnel earned us 3x what we paid for it during this year, almost half of that after the first frost killed everything outside. We could have done much better if we had of had the time to fully plant it out properly.

Wonderful...thanks for sharing :-)

God bless,
