I have an outbreak of ick in what will now be my hospital tank. It doesn't support any plants and I want to keep it for my pet fish. I am salting the tank to get rid of ick as well as using ick meds. I was told in order to treat ick my salt levels need to be at a certain level. I have the water testing kit. Will one of those tests tell me my salt level? Or do I need to buy a new kind of test?

The API Freshwater master test kit does not test salt levels.  They do make a test kit for salt levels but those are not all that easy to deal with.  They also make hygrometers to checking salt levels, just make sure to get one that tests in the range you are looking for.  OR if you have or know anyone that has a hydroponics type EC meter, you might be able to manage it with that (though I had to actually run dilution tests once the salt level got past 1.5 ppt so the EC meter is not that easy to use for the purpose.)
