There are a couple of cool free app for your iPhone.

can you describe what the apps do a bit? I don't have an iPhone so I can't go check it out for myself very easily.

How water/mud and dirt proof are I phones?
See I was thinking one can do all that with a simple pad of paper and access to the internet but then I thought well It's a pain for me to take the pad of paper and pencil out to the garden because it gets all wet an dirty. So maybe something else would be good, but only if it is designed to handle being dropped in the mud and can handle being operated with dirty hands and perhaps getting dropped in the water.
Sounds a bit more like a garden game app than an actual garden tool but ........
I'm skeptical and my phones have to survive being dropped and getting wet.
i wished there would be a Aquaponicscommunity app :D
My iphone was very helpful when i took data from the system, it saved a lot of time and. the app processed the data right away to a diagram. it calculates everything you need. For me it was the best journal, i was able to take pictures right away and saved it beside the datas. I really recommend this program: http://itunes.apple.com/en/app/numbers/id361304891?mt=8
