Have a hybrid striped bass that has some manner of a 'slime' on it. Looks like it may be a bacterial or fungal issue... Segregated him from the rest of the tank, and in short order, he passed onto the great pond beyond... Any thoughts on a possible cause?

hybrid striped bass are notorious for their slime. It is their hyperactive defense system fighting off infection. Resist the temptation to remove it or to handle the fish roughly. Also, you might look into how to dose them  with salt, or provide a salt dip, to help prevent infection.

Found some stuff from Murray regarding a salt bath... May try that and a 50% water change tonight...
