feeding slugs to Tilapia

My garden (outside) has been over run with little brown slugs, wondering if they would make good fish food for my Tilapia? I threw some in to test and they gobble them up, spit em out, gobble them up again  over and over. I think that eventually the slugs get swallowed. Not sure if that's how the Tilapia eat or if they shouldn't be eating slugs???? I'd love if those slimy buggers could have a good use! Also any suggestions for weeds that make good fish food?
