My first set of fish is a moz-honorum hybrid. They are too small to know yet, but I am assuming that they are all male -- desirable to some.

I have also acquired a set of hawaiian gold fingerlings. I know these to be able to breed.

Does anyone know whether the my first set of all-male hybrids are capable of breeding with the female hawaiian gold? Do they not breed because they are simply all male and not independently capable, or are they more like a mule (sterile male donkey-horse hybrid)?

The best I found is:

"The F1 generation of tilapia crosses is normally fertile and may backcross with a parent. This can in turn result in offspring of both sexes. "

Thanks ...
