Being new to this subject I made a deep water technique system- (d.w.t.)- using a 4" pipe- on the end of pipes ,contains a reduction plate that gives me a 2"inlet -outlet on the end of the other pipe creating a baffler affect .Pipes laid horizontally enabling water to reach about the half way mark ,water controlled by tap from fish tank controlling the rate of flow round the system .I am thinking of putting a small aerator into the system to oxygenate the water ,also to keep water cool .I used cling film around the plant holders to stop evaporation , seems to work quite well .The plant holders consist of 3" pipe cut down to 6.5 inches with a net pot used as a base fastened with a zip tie .Hydroton used as media.
