Aquaponic Gardening

A Community and Forum For Aquaponic Gardeners

I'm in the process of building a small system right now but on paper this looks great and I think that it should quickly turn into a larger system. However, while looking at the possibility of building a large commercial system I have been having a hard time finding a comparable system that has lasted any length of time. Ideally I would like to see a larger system that has been around for 2+ years.

Which leads me to question of how sustainable a larger system would be and if it is truly profitable over the long term.

Does anyone have experience or know about a larger system that has been around?

Growing Power

Look those up and you will find the places that have been doing it bigger than large backyard/niche market growing for more than 2 years.  There are many other operations out there but not running for very long yet.

To be fair Friendly is the only one of these listed by TC that is a true commercial aquaponics farm. I would call Nelson and Pade who claim to have installed systems covering 175,000 sf and ask to see if they will offer a list to you. They have many clients, most of which have a lower profile. Keep in mind that Aquaponics is only now just getting momentum commercially so there is not a robust track record.

S & S Aqua Farm in Missouri has been around since the early '90s.

KP Simply Fresh in Wisconsin is 2 years old. Chris Meunier runs the Midwest Group on this community.
