Buying an IBC, Intermediate Bulk Container that had a Liner

I'm starting to see for sale on Craigslist in my area Los Angeles, IBC's that have been previously used and they say that they have been use in conjunction with a Liner (detergent was in the liner).

Does anyone have any experience with this? 

Recommend using the IBC for Aquaponic use?

I think that its god, they are made of HDPE, only make sure that it doesnt was used for toxic chemicals, buy a new one or some that contain food safe thinks
