Bell Siphons, U Siphons, or Bucket siphons

I set up 6 grow beds, half barrels side by side.  They fit perfectly into a 12x3  space. I tried to use a bell siphon to drain the water from each bed.  4 grow beds are not draining, I adjusted each  a couple of times.  I am thinking that the media is getting through the media screen.  I am entertaining the idea of using a U siphon to make to drain all the tanks.
