<p>Sorry David but simply aerating the water for 24 hours might take care of chlorine but it won't take care of the Chloramine.</p>
<p>I believe it takes more like 3 weeks to get rid of chloramine by aerating it and that does better when there is UV light to help break the ammonia chlorine bond.</p>
<p>Activated carbon can take care of chloramine but most filters don't have a long enough resident time to effectively deal with all the chloramine.…</p>

You can put Zip drops in it to pre-treat it or simply aerate the water for at least 24 hours. What remains will be ammonia. Chloramine is chlorine bonded to ammonia.
