I recently had to battle some new caterpillars on my lettuce so I purchased a bottle of Bacillus Thuringiensis that needed to be diluted. Once diluted it says to use the mixture in 24 hours but it made waaaay more than I needed. I can’t dump it down the drain and I can’t use it up so what do I do with it now? Any idea how I am supposed to safely dispose?

I'm new to aquaponics and new to gardening in general. I planted some cherry tomatoes in my system about a month ago. The plants look good and healthy and are about 2 feet tall. There are no flowers yet and I don't see anything that looks like it will become a flower. I need some help/advice.

I am a newbie when it comes about growing marijuana inside. And i saw this https://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/collections/seedsman-marijuana-seeds that maybe i can plant this inside the house but it is way too expensive than buying it outside. But i think as a starter it would be expensive but if this grows it will lessen the cost. Am i right about this? Appreciated for the reply. Thanks.

All,

I have an issue in the DWC portion of my AP system - 200 gallon with 4 - 3x3 media beds and 1 - 12x4 DWC trough. The lettuce is getting the yellow/brown discoloration on some of the mature leaves. See attached pictures. Just trying to properly identify it and come up with a good organic AP remedy. Thanks - Daryl…

Dear Friends,

I got my system (Aqua Abundance, 2 media and 1 DWC, with a 500 gallon fish tank) eight months ago. I believe it is fully cycled because the ammonia is a 0.5 ppm, the nitrite is at 0.0 and the nitrate is over 160 ppm. I add a tablespoon of iron every month or two and I add a tablespoon of micronutrients at about the same rate. The pH has stabilized at 7.4 according to a gauge I bought and calibrated to a known pH level of 4.0. The test chemicals I got from The Aquaponics…

The test chemicals I got from The Aquaponics Source shows the pH to be stable at 6.8. Everything was going fine until I closed up my 24 foot diameter geodesic dome because of cold temperatures. I am in the process of buying a CO2 meter but I think I may have a problem. The leaves are yellow, dry, and withered. I don't see any aphids and I have looked closely and I know what they look like from other outdoor plants last summer.

I have attached some pictures below.

I am looking for hints as to the cause and possible cures for my problem.

Thanks for your help.

Has anyone tried growing bamboo in their system?

We've recently moved and I've had to scale down my lighting which has limited what I can can grow. My fish are producing more waste than what my plants can clean so I was thinking about trying bamboo since it likes lots of water and low light.

Any thoughts?

I recently planted cucumbers in our media bed in a passive solar greenhouse and the they are not doing well and the leaves are turning yellow-brown. This would indicate cucumber mosaic virus in a regular garden but I am new to aquaponics so not sure if that happens. Does anyone have any answers or fixes? Thanks...

Has anyone seen a chart which shows which plants have a larger root growth and/or those with smaller root growth?

I am concerned with what I can crow in my NFT system without worrying about water backing up in pipes.
