After four years of commercial operations serving Colorado Springs, I am closing and selling my equipment. I have two grow systems (one is a 14,000g Nelson and Pade commercial system w/ seed trays, NFTs and DWC; the other is a 650g N&P home garden/nursery system), a purge system, and an additional bubble bead filtration system. Plus, I have 37 x Lumigrow Pro 650w Fixtures. I operated out of a warehouse and all equipment is in good shape.

After a decade of successful business, we have decided it is time to work towards simplifying a bit, and to begin the process of looking for a new steward for White Brook Tilapia Farm. Don’t worry, we intend to continue normal operations until we find a suitable person or entity to take over, so orders will not be impacted in any way, and the phones will still be answered by a helpful friendly voice when you need us. Bottom line is we’re here for you, and that commitment is not changing. We have thoroughly enjoyed this venture, and boy has the time flown by. It has been an enormous blessing having the opportunity to meet so many fantastic people, and the friendships we have made through our involvement in the aquaculture and aquaponics communities will last a lifetime. It’s just time for us to start winding down some of our commitments, so we can focus more specifically on others - including family, friends, other business and farm commitments, and maybe a little more leisure time (we’ll see about that last one).

Assets included in the sale:
1. All related branding, the tilapiasource.com domain name, logos and e-commerce website. Optionally, we have several additional tilapia and aquaculture domain names available as well.
2. Our entire inventory of tilapia breeders. This includes all 5 strains that we manage and sell. In total, probably about 230 breeders.
3. About 100 aquariums consisting of 40 gallon breeders, 55 gallon standards and 75 gallon standards all drilled with bulkhead fittings for centralized filtration. Also numerous smaller nursery tanks and holding tanks.
4. Hatchery equipment – McDonald style hatching jars, UV sterilizers, pumps, filters, etc.
5. Established retail customer base – Existing clientele and sales.
6. Established drop ship customer base – We drop ship fish for some other companies as well.
7. Vendor and supplier lists – We’ve already done the legwork of finding reliable low cost suppliers for shipping supplies, heavily discounted shipping rates, etc.
8. Training on how to properly handle, prepare and package live fish for transport.
9. Disease free inspection certificate (required for legal shipping of live tilapia in the US).
10. Non-competition agreement – We will no longer breed tilapia fingerlings to sell once the sale of the business assets are finalized and paid for.

Please contact us at corp@tilapiasource.com regarding asking price, or to request further details.

Hi there, im relatively new to air flow /aeration and looking to set up a system asap. I need a little help deciding whats needed if possible.

Ill need two systems, both ran by Sweetwater s31 blowers. One system will feed one big fish tank (15000L) and needs 12cfm at 40" in a 48'' deep tank.

In the other system i need to supply 6cfm or more @10'' depth over 24 long grow beds ((18bedsx29')+(6bedsx44')= 786 linear ft total) (stacked 6 tanks high per tower).

For the second system I was considering my options between a series of medium pore diffusers or diffuser hose. My best assumption is diffuser hose may be better due to its ability to operate at a range of CFM (.1cfm-.5cfm/ft) in case my calculations are wrong or need adjustment. I also need to know how to connect the series of hoses to the blower as their connections are different. Sweetwater s31 Im assuming a series of manifold but i cant tell which suit my interest. As for the first system im confused as to what sort of diffuser to use at all.

I also need to know how often to add regulators in the system to keep air flow constant.

Although I will still be working for a few more years, my husband is willing to tend the farm. I am thinking it will take a few years to get off he ground.

Any advice from any of you colder weather growers would be welcome. Any advice from anyone on how to get up running would be a great help. To be truthful I am so exited, yet scared to death all at the same time. I am looking at putting quite a bit of the savings into this.
Very interested in setting up here in Thailand something along the lines of the UVI system. Plenty of info available on line about this system and sizing etc. Indeed the guys at UVi have been very helpful in all this posts and papers etc. Lots of open info.

Does anyone know of a system similar to the UVi which is up and running commercially ? Would be useful to touch base before I start digging up my backyard for sumps etc:)
